 Thank-A-Vet Program

  • Veterans must record original DD214 prior to obtaining a discount card.
  • If DD214 has been previously recorded in our office, we will only need to verify prior to issuing a discount card.
  • Veteran must present valid government issued photo ID (NC Driver’s license or US Passport)
  • Once the Veteran has recorded their DD214, they will be eligible to obtain a discount card from our office. This card can be shown at local participating merchants in order to obtain a discount from that merchant.
  • Merchant participation is solely voluntary. Signed agreements will be valid for a term of one year, with automatic renewal.
  • Spouses and children are not eligible to receive a discount card.
  • This program is administered by the Greene County Register of Deeds

Greene County Business Leaders

The Greene County Register of Deeds Office would like to start providing our Veterans with a “Thank A Vet” card that entitles them to a discount at participating businesses. We sincerely ask for your participation in this program, to show your appreciation to our County’s Veterans. The Veteran will be required to present the Greene County Register of Deeds a copy of their DD214 that must be filled in our office to qualify for any discount or incentive.

A listing of all participating business’ will be on the Greene County Register of Deeds website, https://greenecountync.gov/departments/register-of-deeds/. Our website will be updated monthly to ensure we have the most current list.

Enrollment would be for one year with an automatic renewal. We ask that any participating business to give us a 30-day written notice if they plan to withdraw from the program.

Discounts may be a percentage of the sale or a specific dollar amount.
