Health Insurance

The NC State Health Plan is administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC and offers two PPO plans to eligible employees:

  • Enhanced 80/20 PPO
  • Traditional 70/30 PPO

Permanent full-time employees working 40 or more hours per week and part-time permanent positions working 30 hours or more are eligible. Your cost will depend on the particular plan and coverage you chose. Coverages include Employee Only, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse and Employee + Family. Payroll deductions are available on a pre-tax basis. For rate information, please visit the NC State Health Plan at www.shpnc.org.

Eligible employees and dependents may enroll within 60 days of hire or qualifying life event. Open enrollment is available as determined by the NC State Health Plan.

Dental Insurance

We provide a dental plan that is administered by MetLife and available to permanent full-time employees working 40 or more hours per week and part-time permanent positions working 30 hour or more.

Your cost depends on the coverage you choose. Coverages include Employee Only, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse and Employee + Family.

Eligible employees and dependents can enroll within 60 days of hire. Annual enrollment is offered.

Vision Insurance

Vision Insurance is administered by MetLife permanent full-time employees working 40 or more hours per week and part-time permanent positions working 30 hour or more.

Your cost depends on the coverage you chose. Coverages include Employee Only, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse and Employee + Family.

Eligible employees and dependents can enroll within 60 days of hire. Annual enrollment is offered.

Retirement

NC Retirement Accounts are available to permanent full-time employees. Contributions are withheld at 6% of gross wages. More information can be found at Department of the State Treasurer.

University of Mount Olive Trojan Alliance Partnership

University of Mount Olive (UMO) offers a unique opportunity for our strategic partners called the Trojan Alliance Partnership, or “TAP.”

TAP allows employees of our partnering organizations to receive a tuition scholarship.

UMO will offer a 10% tuition scholarship to employees who enroll in seated or online classes.
The discount increases to 30% per semester when the student is enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at the undergraduate level or 9 credit hours at the graduate level.
Application fees will be waived.

401(k) Supplement

A 401(k) supplement, administered by Prudential, is available to eligible employees through a traditional pre-tax contribution plan or a Roth post-tax contribution plan. Eligible employees include all employees enrolled in the NC Retirement Systems, permanent full-time employees working 40 hours or more per week. Plans can be deducted from your payroll.
