NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING GREENE COUNTY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Greene County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing during its regular meeting, which is scheduled as follows:

PLACE: COMMISSIONERS’ CHAMBERS, GREENE COUNTY OPERATIONS CENTER, 312 SE SECOND STREET, SNOW HILL, NC
PURPOSE: To consider the provision of economic development incentives pursuant to G.S. 158-7.1.
The Board of Commissioners intends to consider awarding an economic development incentive to a company identified as Project Leader. The County will provide an incentive grant in the approximate amount of $46,802.21 (forty-six thousand eight hundred two dollars and twenty-one cents). This amount may be more or less depending on the actual amount of the company’s new investment in any given year. The grant amount has been negotiated and agreed to by the parties contingent upon the company entering into a formal agreement and the approval of the Greene County Board of Commissioners.
These incentives provide financial assistance to companies expanding or locating in Greene County based on job creation and capital investment. Companies receive no money upfront, must meet established performance targets, and pay taxes before receiving any incentive payment. The amount of property tax revenue billed to the company on its capital investment will exceed the total incentive paid by the County.
