NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Greene County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing during its regular meeting which is scheduled as follows:

PLACE: GREENE COUNTY OPERATIONS CENTER 312 SE SECOND ST, SNOW HILL, NC 28580
PURPOSE: To consider the provision of an economic development grant pursuant to G.S. 158-7.1.
The Board of Commissioners intends to consider awarding an economic development business investment grant to Greene Grain and Cattle, LLC, which is investing in real and personal property with a potential value totaling $7,000,000 total taxable investment amount. Greene Grain and Cattle, LLC will create 22 new jobs in Greene County over the life of the project.
The value of the grant is based upon the appraised value each year as appraised by the Greene County Tax Administration Office. The amount of Greene County property tax revenues that will be billed to the company for their capital investment in machinery and equipment for the company will exceed the amount to be paid out by the county for economic development grants.
The estimated grant will be $62,904 and paid over three years. No money would be paid until after performance goals are met. The first payment would be following the investment and reporting to the Greene County Tax Office.
