The Greene County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed July 1, 2023, “Nancy Murphy Day” in Greene County, North Carolina, in recognition of her exceptional contributions and 36 years of dedicated service to our local government.

We bid a heartfelt farewell to the Honorable Nancy Murphy as she retires from her esteemed position as the Greene County Register of Deeds. With over 36 years of dedicated service to the County of Greene, Nancy has left an indelible mark on our community.

 

Nancy began her remarkable career in the Greene County Register of Deeds Department on October 1st, 1986, and became the Assistant Register of Deeds in January of 1987, a position she served in until she was elected Register of Deeds and officially sworn in December 2000. Throughout her tenure, Nancy has been a beacon of professionalism and integrity, ensuring the efficient recording and preservation of vital records for our community.

We are immensely grateful for Nancy’s unwavering dedication and her countless contributions to the County of Greene. Her steadfast commitment to public service and her deep-rooted passion for serving the people of Greene County. Nancy’s tireless efforts have played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of our county, and her absence will surely be felt.

We extend our warmest wishes to Nancy Murphy as she enters a well-deserved retirement. May this new chapter be filled with joy, relaxation, and cherished moments with loved ones. Your dedication and service have made a lasting impact on Greene County, and for that, we are forever grateful.
