At last night’s Board of Commissioners meeting, Greene County honored Commissioner James T. Shackleford, Jr. for 24 years of dedicated service. Commissioner Shackleford, who has served on the Board since 2000, was presented with a commemorative plaque and a heartfelt resolution recognizing his many contributions to the county.
Throughout his tenure, Commissioner Shackleford served as both Chairman and Vice Chair of the Board, providing steadfast leadership and a deep commitment to the residents of Greene County. His years of service were marked by a willingness to make difficult decisions, always guided by a vision to improve the quality of life for all. His collaborative approach and dedication have left a lasting impact on Greene County.
In addition to his service on the Board, Commissioner Shackleford is a farmer and a proud part of Greene County’s agricultural community. He and his wife Geraldine live in Snow Hill, where they have long been active members of the community.
