The Greene County Board of Elections has extended the filing period 5 days for the Maury Sanitary Land District. Only one candidate filed for Maury Sanitary Land District Board which has two seats up for the November 7, 2023 elections. The new filing period for Maury Sanitary Land District Board will be extended until July 28, 2023 at 12 noon.
Candidate filing dates are scheduled by North Carolina General Statute. This year candidate filing began on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 12 noon and was scheduled to close on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 12 noon. However, Greene County Board of Elections has the option to extend filing if no or too few candidates have filed. Greene County Board of Elections exercised that option in light of not having enough candidates file.
Candidates interested in filing must do so at the Board of Elections office located at 104 Hines Street in Snow Hill.
