The Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation (ESFR) Program provides funding for major home repairs for North Carolina homeowners who are elderly or have disabilities. Eligible households must have incomes at or below 80 percent of the area’s median income.

Each applicant should bring:
- Ownership verification (Deed or partial ownership document)
- 2025 income documentation for each family member listed
If applicable:
- Death certificate(s)
- Divorce decree(s)
- Delinquent tax payment plan
- Veteran documentation
- Disability documentation
Applying for Assistance:
• Call Tim Andrews of McDavid Associates at 252-753-2139 to apply by phone.
• A sign-in sheet to apply for assistance will also be available at the Greene County Senior Center (104 Greenridge Rd, Snow Hill, NC 28580) from now through the September 16, 2025 deadline. Write your name and phone number. A housing specialist from McDavid Associates will reach out to you within one week of the deadline to complete the application by phone.
