The Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center facility has a 96 bed capacity and the ability to house females. The facility also allows for extra bed spaces to be rented out through the State Misdemeanor Confinement Program, in which the state pays the county for housing inmates sentenced for misdemeanor crimes. The Detention Center also rents out bed space to neighboring counties. Both programs allow for the Detention Center to generate a revenue
