Greene County recently joined Lenoir and Wayne County in the NC Global Transpark Economic Development Region. Mr. Harold Thomas is the Vice President for the NC Global Transpark Economic Development Region and Mr. Thomas joins Trey to discuss the new region and economic development in Greene County.
Mr. Thomas also discusses Project Hive. Project Hive is a private business that has applied for a grant through the North Carolina Department of Commerce. The NC Department of Commerce has given the business the codename “Project Hive” during the grant funding application period. The business plans to invest $1,250,000 and create 17 new jobs in Greene County over the life of the project. The NC Department of Commerce gives codenames to all potential economic development projects prior to awarding funds around the state.
