PUBLIC NOTICE Greene County, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the Eastern Carolina Rural Planning Organization (RPO), and local municipalities, has prepared a draft Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The plan identifies long-range transportation needs for the next 25 to 30 years. The draft CTP is available for public review at https://greenecountync.gov/ctp2025/ . A 30-day public comment period is open and will close on October 31, 2025. Written comments may be submitted by email to trey.cash@greenecountync.gov . Two public involvement meetings will be held at the Greene County Commissioners Chambers, Greene County Operations Center, 312 SE 2nd Street, Snow Hill, NC 28580: Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM All interested persons are invited to attend and to submit comments before the close of the comment period.

Greene County Releases Draft Comprehensive Transportation Plan for Public Review

Greene County, in partnership with NCDOT, the Eastern Carolina RPO, and local municipalities, has completed the draft of its Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). This plan outlines long-range transportation needs for the next 25 to 30 years, including future improvements for highways, bike and pedestrian routes, public transit, and rail.

The draft reflects input gathered over the past two years and includes contributions from community stakeholders and local staff. It is designed to help guide future decisions and align transportation priorities with growth and development.

We are now inviting public review and comment on the draft plan.
