Notification of Discharge of Untreated Wastewater
Greene County had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our Wastewater Collection System at MCI Pump Station #1 located at the intersection of Lilly Pad Rd and Four-Way Rd of approximately 100,000 gallons. The discharge occurred on December 2, 2024, for approximately 24 hrs. The untreated wastewater entered a tributary of Contentnea Creek. The sewer line was repaired and placed back into service on December 3, 2024. This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C.
