A new version of GreeneCountyNC.gov, the County’s official website, was introduced to Greene County citizens on January 1, 2021. The website incorporates a host of new features and tools designed to help residents, visitors, and community partners quickly locate the information and services they may need. Developed through a partnership with a Kinston-based firm — Edge360 Creative — the redesigned site highlights county services for citizens in a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate interface for visitors.
Visitors to Greene County’s website will immediately notice a dramatic new look. In addition to its appearance, the new site offers many improved features designed to help residents quickly locate the information and services they need. From the new homepage, users can find job postings, pay their tax/water bill, request transportation, information about the Greene County Wellness Center, sign up for CodeRED emergency alerts, and discover new events in the new Community Calendar.
Greene County Manager Kyle DeHaven said the team redesigned the site from the perspective of county residents and county employees.
“I am very excited about a new and modern web page that will allow ease of use for staff sharing information and the public seeking information. ”
In developing the new website, Greene County citizens and Greene County staff were surveyed to find out what aspects of the County’s website were important to them.
In addition, the website is fully responsive, making it easy to use whether the user is accessing it with a desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet. More than half of all users now access the website from their cell phones and tablets.
The new website features improvements to ADA compliance, language access, and general usability.
