Greene County is currently in the process of completing the reappraisal of all real property in the County. The last revaluation went into effect in 2013. North Carolina General Statute 105-286 requires each county to conduct a reappraisal of real property (land, buildings, and other improvements to the land) at least every eight (8) years. The purpose of a revaluation is to fairly, equally, and uniformly appraise the real property at its “true value” in money. The projection is to mail revaluation notices by the end of 2020. After receipt of your notice, if you believe the new value to be in excess of market value, you may request a review per instructions on the revaluation notice.
