NEW:  RECEIPTS FOR MOTOR VEHICLE TAXES

Vehicle property tax receipts are now available on the MyDMV portal.  Access by clicking on the following link: https://edmv.ncdot.gov/MyDMV/

Once logged in, click on Correspondence on the right middle area of the window.  Under Correspondence, select the year desired for vehicle property taxes and all vehicles paid for in that year will display with the total taxes paid for each vehicle in that calendar year.  Businesses will not be able to access tax information through the MyDMV portal.

The Tax Assessor's primary responsibility is to appraise, list and assess all taxable real and personal property each year and furnish tax base figures to the County, Municipalities and Fire Departments for budget purposes.

Each year in late December, abstract listings are sent to all taxpayers that had a listing for the prior year. All personal property subject to annual listing must be listed during the month of January in order to avoid a 10% late listing penalty as mandated by State law.

Mission Statement

To create a fair, open, and efficient administration; to locate, identify, list, and appraise all property subject to taxation; and to collect those taxes to benefit the Citizens of Greene County.
